Gratitude Day Banner

(September 2018) — Originating in the mid-1960s at an international gathering, World Gratitude Day may just be gaining the momentum it deserves. In a world seeking genuine human connection, gratitude is an expression that ‘ripples out’ says Dr. Lisa Williams, senior lecturer in psychology at The University of New South Wales in Australia, adding, someone who receives gratitude is more likely to reciprocate it and act to the benefit of others.

At Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital we recognize the importance of expressing gratitude on a daily basis. Gratitude to our physicians, clinicians, and staff for the dedicated work and patient care they provide every day. Gratitude from our patients, their family, and visitors who voice their thanks for the kindness they experience throughout our hospital. Gratitude to our donors and supporters who believe in our mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality, affordable health services; serving and advocating for our sisters and brothers who are poor and disenfranchised; and partnering with others in the community to improve quality of life.

On Friday, September 21, 2018 we wish to thank everyone who contributes to our culture of gratitude.

Celebrate with us and share your gratitude for the people and events in your life and community using #GratitudeEveryDay #WorldGratitudeDay and by tagging the Sequoia Hospital Foundation in your Instagram, Facebook and Twitter posts.

At the end of the day increase your personal happiness and overall satisfaction by accepting and passing on gratitude regularly.
